Description

A sensational early work by the idiosyncratic John Christopherson, which displays the influence of Jean Dubuffet on the artist in the paint handling and sheer breadth of imagination. Beneath the richly textured archaeological facade and night sky lie shades of crimson and turquoise.

Christopherson’s pictures linger in the memory. His image world is a distillation of cultural debris sifted with poetic intensity
